Donna Jeanne (Lathrop) Fults, 79, of Troy Mills, died Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held: 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at Troy Mills Christian Church by Rev. Jamie Wolfe. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Private Family Inurnment: Troy Mills Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Hughey; children, Charlene (Terry) Moyle of Toddville, Dennis (Sheryl) Perrin of Toddville, Brenda (Mitch) Smith of Cedar Rapids, Linda (Rick) Schrader of Watkins, Deanna (Jim) Campbell of Cedar Rapids, and Gene Fults of Alburnett; 14 grandchildren, Jeff, Brad, Justin, Damien, Zach, Megan, Josh, Randy, Jessica, Jen, Valerie, Candace, Kurt, and Shawn; 11 great-grandchildren, Brent, Ryan, Coleman, Randee, Hayden, Alexa, Sheldon, Gavin, Falon, Dakota, and Kylie; one great-great-granddaughter, Kayleyah; siblings, Frances Burns, Betty (David) Wittenberg, JoAnn Fetters, and Albert “Butch” Lathrop; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Charles Perrin; daughter, Shelley McCraken; two brothers, Harold and Elmer “Junior” Lathrop; sister, Alberta Dirks; great-grandson, Mason Moyle; and great-granddaughter, Journey Lathrop.
Donna was born May 12, 1934, in Stone City, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer Sr. and Mary Helen (Mere) Lathrop. She married Hughey K. Fults on January 30, 1970, in Marion, Iowa. Donna worked at Wilson’s Packing House, Collins Radio (for many years), and Amana Refrigeration until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of Troy Mills Christian Church. Donna will be remembered for her kindness, generous hospitality, time spent with Walker/Alice dinner friends, and her unselfish love of her family. Donna touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
