Donald D. Wiley, 77, of 950 20th Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, of cancer (BGM). Services with military and Masonic honors: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Luke McCoy. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial: Garden of Memories, Waterloo, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa; children, David (Rhonda) Wiley of Marion, Iowa, Kathleen (Robert) Ketelsen of Martelle, Michael Wiley of Cedar Rapids, Patrick Wiley of Marion, and Diane (Joseph) Jakoubek of Cedar Rapids; 13 grand children; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Howard Wiley of Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Armar “Bill” Wiley and Walter Wiley.
Donald was born May 27, 1930, in Masonville, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Gertrude (Ottomeyer) Wiley. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On December 16, 1951, he married Theresa Kuriger in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a driver for Conway Central Express and retired from driving a school bus for College Community Schools.
Donald was a member of Antioch Christian Church, Fairfax Masonic Lodge, El Kahir Shrine, where he was a member of the Director's Staff, VFW, American Legion and the Scottish Rite.
Donald enjoyed fishing, cooking, reading and trucking. He loved his family and was a friend to everyone.
