Donald Leroy Trueblood
November 4, 1957 — August 24, 2009
Donald LeRoy Trueblood, 51, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, August 24, 2009, at Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, from complications of leukemia. Services: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where the family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife Vikki; four children, Matthew Trueblood of Agency, Iowa, Christopher Griffin, Robin Griffin and Travis Griffin, all of Fairfield, Iowa; three grandchildren, Wylie, Madison and Tyler Trueblood; and a sister, Donna (Don) Jenns of Manassas, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Don was born November 4, 1957, the son of Clarence and Mary Ann (Donald) Trueblood, in Fairfield, Iowa. On November 4, 2006, he married Vikki Steele in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Don was an owner/operator truck driver who was currently leased to JRRW Transport of North Liberty for over 20 years. He loved his truck and enjoyed golfing and boating.
The family extends sincere gratitude to Oncology Associates of Cedar Rapids, Mercy Treatment Center, Mayo Clinic, Nebraska Medical Center, Hawkeye International and JRRW.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or consider becoming a bone marrow donor, in memory of Don.
Following the services, there will be a gathering at Daniel's Park (off of H Ave & Oakland Rd. NE) for a celebration of Don's life. Please bring your lawn chairs and coolers.
