Donald Frank Reed, 76, of Alburnett, died Saturday, October 20, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his family. Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. H. Burr Bryant. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, Toddville.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Juanita of Alburnett; eight children, Patsy (Dale) Strand of Toddville, Danny (Elsie) Reed of Locust Grove, Georgia, Pam (David) Kirk, Peggy Hull, David Reed, Robin (Randy) Morrison, Roger (Kim) Reed, and Avery (Lynn) Reed, all of Alburnett; two brothers, Charlie (Hazel) Reed of Des Moines and Bill (Janet) Reed of Lenox; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Orville Reed and Lewis Reed; and four sisters, Eva Jones, Lola Dillon, Lometa Brammer, and Nina Baker.

Don was born September 22, 1931, the son of W.O. and Erma (Belding) Reed in Lenox. He attended Lenox High School. On June 26, 1948, he married Juanita Reason in Creston. Don worked in bridge construction with Cramer Bros. for twenty-eight years.

Don enjoyed his grandkids. He loved going to ball games of every sort. He always put others before himself. Don seemed to be everyone’s grandpa. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy or Camp Courageous in Don’s memory.
