Donald “Randy” Randall, 79, of Center Point, Iowa, went on an eternal fishing trip on Friday, May 29, 2015, peacefully from home. Celebration of Life Luncheon: 1 pm to 5 pm, Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Pleasant Creek Pavilion, Palo, Iowa. Arrangements with Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.
Survivors include his children, Tamra (Jim) Randall-Osborn, Vinton, Rob (Greg) Randall, Marion, Tracy (Tom) Latteyer, Vinton, Jody Lawrence (Mark Fulmer), Alburnett, Jamie Randall, Hiawatha, Trever (Stacey) Randall, Vinton and Chad (Crystal) Randall, Olin; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; siblings, Noal Wayne (Sheila) Randall, Jr., Urbana, Joanne (Al) Easton and Elaine (Carl) Hoffman, both of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Keena (Doug) Ashbacher, Center Point; and daughter-in-law, Tara Randall, Center Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sparing partner and wife, Jeannie; two daughters, Robin Ann and Margie Ann Randall; and great-grandson, Triston Randall.
Randy was born December 17, 1935, the son of Noal and Stella (Wisnekski) Randall, Sr., in Altelboro, Massachusetts. He enlisted in the United States Airforce from 1955 to 1959, serving as an air traffic controller. After returning from the service, he began working for Witwer Farms as a driver and then with Penick Ford. On May 13, 1961, Randy was united in marriage to Barbara “Jeannie” McClean in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
After his marriage, Randy began working for Quaker Oats and then with Universal Engineering until they closed. He began doing odd jobs including running a scrap business. Randy spent several years doing field work and going to farmers markets with Tam and Jim. For the last 10 years, he worked for Advanced Cleaning Systems at General Mills. Randy retired at the age of 76.
Randy loved bowling, fishing, golfing and gambling.
