Donald P. Mangrich, 80, of 656 15th Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, in his home, following a long illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2006, at St. Wenceslaus Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Nils Hernandez. The family will greet friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a vigil service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Burial: St. John?s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military honors.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille; six children, Thomas (Chris) Mangrich of North Liberty, Iowa, Gerald (Mary Kay) Mangrich of Cedar Rapids, Kenneth (Lisa) Mangrich of Cedar Rapids, Daniel (Diane) Mangrich of Marion, Carol (Jim) Barnes of Austin, Texas, and Sharon (Michael) White of Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and a sister, Naomi Griffin of Des Moines, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Susan Zenisek; a brother, Louis Mangrich; and a sister, Delores Palmer.

Donald was born May 12, 1926, in Dyersville, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Rose (Kramer) Mangrich. He served in the United States Army. On July 11, 1950, he was united in marriage to Lucille Becker in Norway, Iowa. Donald was a printer for Service Press and Litho Company for 43 years, retiring in 1989. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #788.
