Donald "Don" Lynn Wilson

Donald Lynn “Don” Wilson, 72, of Urbana, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at St Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be held from 1 – 5 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2017, at the Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Tim DeVries.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie of Urbana; two daughters, Lory Tharp of Walker and Sherry Taylor of Urbana; four grandsons, Zach Tharp, Jared Tharp, Ryan Andrews, and Cory Taylor; and sister, Julie (Bill) Stephens of Cedar Key, Florida; mother-in-law, Helen Brown and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Frank and Alyce (Stone) Wilson; and brothers Joe Wilson and Ben Wilson.
Don Wilson was born March 1, 1945, at home in West Prairie, Iowa, to Frank and Alyce (Stone) Wilson. On September 14, 1963, he married Dixie Brown in Hiawatha. Don was a successful farmer in Center Point and Urbana area and also worked at Farmstead. After retiring he started a lawn mowing business. Don endured much pain in his life, however, he stayed strong. He was a caring and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Don’s memory.
