Donald Dean (Don) Jerome, age 76, of Central City, passed away in his sleep on Monday, October 22, 2012. He looked forward to being reunited with his Savior and his beloved wife, Judy, who passed away two years earlier.
A service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Rev. Steve Russell of Jordan’s Grove Baptist Church. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
Don was born on February 24, 1936, the son of Harvey and Bessie Jerome. He married his sweetheart, Judy Olson on June 10, 1967, and together they raised two sons. Don enjoyed his career at Rockwell Collins as well as serving for the Central City Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his two sons, Jerry (Sylvia) Jerome of Walker, IA, and Tom (Kristi) Jerome of Mechanicsville, IA; six grandchildren, Melanie (Dan) Mamula, Isaac (Michelle) Jerome, Emily (Wade) Wilson, Seth (Tammy) Jerome, Brian (Kristen) Jerome, and Alicia Jerome; 12 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Grace, Jack, and George Mamula, Brandon and Tanner Jerome, Caspian Wilson, Zack, Asrael, Asianna, and Amleah Jerome, and Thomas Jerome; a brother, Bob (Lois) Jerome, and two sisters, Phyllis Johnston, and Marcella (Dick) Flemming.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judith; nephew, Frank; niece, Cathy; and sister, Lois.
