Donald F. Dolan, 94, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion, formerly of Central City, died Sunday, November 6, 2005, at the care center, following a long illness. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at St. Stephen?s Catholic Church in Central City by Rev. Wayne Droessler. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Prairieburg.
Surviving are three granddaughters, Debra Franklin and husband Jim of Central City, Dianna Sweet of Centennial, Colorado and Sheri James and husband Craig of Center Point; a son-in-law, Jack Sweet of Central City; a sister, Barbara Jean Goodwin of Crystal Lake, Illinois; eight great-grandchildren, Brandon, Japheth and Adrianna Franklin, Bryanna, Bryttnea and Anthony Dillon and Brooke and Tyler James.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a daughter, Nancy Sweet; a sister, Mary Tomlinson; and a brother, Joseph Dolan.
Don was born the son of John and Sara (Fehr) Dolan on February 26, 1911, in Prairieburg. He married Lillian Enabnit on September 26, 1933, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairieburg. She died in 2000. Donald farmed in the Prairieburg area for several years and later worked at Murdoch Funeral Home.
Don enjoyed time with family and friends, playing cards and was a member of St. Stephen?s Catholic Church in Central City. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
