Donald L. Chapman, 84, of Marion, quietly passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Marion. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Inurnment: Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.

Survivors include his daughter, Thea (Dan) Stockman of Hereford, Texas; two stepsons, Rick (Danielle) Seger of Marion and Michael Seger of Marion; a sister, Gerry (Randall) Hough of Council Bluffs; his first wife, Bernadine Ammerman; and four grandchildren, Joe Stockman, Jake Stockman, Ben Seger, and Bailee Seger.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his parents; two sons, Danny and Wayne Chapman; and two brothers, Robert and Fred Chapman.

Donald was born July 30, 1923, the son of Arthur and Mae (Jepson) Chapman in Council Bluffs. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII. In 1971 Donald married Doris Seger. He retired from Rockwell Collins, where he worked as a machinist for over twenty years.

Donald was a member of the Eagles Club and American Legion Post No. 298 of Marion. He volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital.
