Donald L. Balster

Donald L. Balster, 51, of rural Walker, died Friday, January 21, 2005, in Buchanan County Health Center in Independence as a result of a car accident. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. John Gossman. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Friends may call Tuesday (Jan. 25) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his parents, Verne and Ruth Balster of Marion; and a brother Daniel Balster of Marion.
Also surviving is a special cousin, Patti Schaeffer and husband Jeff of Anamosa; and his dog, Sisco.
Donald was born the son of Verne and Ruth (West) Balster on September 29, 1953, in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Marion High School in 1971. Donald worked at Rockwell for thirty-one years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Donald?s memory to Alzheimer?s Association of East Central Iowa, 1570 42nd St. NE, Cedar Rapids 52402.
