Dolores Jean (Ferguson) Zieser, 94, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Service and interment will be private. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids assisted the family.
Dolores was born December 29, 1929, in Urbana, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Gladys (Owens) Ferguson. She was the oldest daughter of 12 children. She was united in marriage to Carl Lee Zieser of Urbana on May 23, 1950. Dolores was described as a hard-working farmer's wife on the Zieser Farm, a devoted mother of five, a fun grandmother and a super great grandmother.
In her last days, Dolores was lovingly cared for by her granddaughter, Maggie Neustel of Central City. The Carl Zieser family are sincerely appreciative of her deep devotion to their mom and the Ferguson family are thankful for Maggie's dedicated care to their beloved sister, Dolores.
Dolores was a grandmother to 14 wonderful children and great-grandmother to 17 cuties.
Survivors include her children, Steven (Kimberly) Zieser of Phoenix, Arizona, Ruth Fahy of Scottsdale, Arizona, Randy (Kristal) Zieser of Cedar Rapids, Jeffrey (Lori) Zieser of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Larry (Kathy) Zieser of Toddville, Iowa; siblings, Laura Mae Pollock of Walker, Iowa, Charles (Cheryl) Ferguson of Center Point, Iowa, Lila Mollenauer of Cedar Rapids, Tom (Patricia) Ferguson of Cedar Rapids, Nancy Panther of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jack Ferguson of Fargo, North Dakota, Carol (Bob) Johnson of Marion, Iowa, and Marcia (Bob) Dyen of Cedar Rapids.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Zieser of Cedar Rapids; parents, Glenn and Gladys Ferguson of Urbana; siblings, Marshal and Virginia Ferguson of Seattle, Washington, Ronald (Janice) Ferguson, of Urbana, and Mary Sue and Merl Mollenauer of Midway, Iowa.
