Dolores M. Sands (Haas)

Dolores M. Sands, 81, of 7 Alhoa Drive, died Friday, June 1, 2007, in St. Luke’s Hospital following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marion by Rev. Thomas Hedtke. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends Monday, June 4, 2007, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Karen) Sands of Hiawatha, Karen Sands of Hiawatha and Steven (Sue) Sands of Rowley; a brother, Wilbur (Marilyn) Haas of Wellington, Ohio; and a sister, LaVera (Tony) Schulz of St. Charles, Missouri.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Brent (Christy ) Sands, Jamie (Brooke) Sands, Michael Sands and Rebecca Sands; and her loving friends the Golden Girls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lloyd, an infant daughter, an infant son, Richard and a sister Myrtle McHale.
Dolores was born the daughter of William and Edna (Bader) Haas on November 10, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On June 28, 1947, she was married to Lloyd Sands at Grace Lutheran Church in Elyria, Ohio. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marion. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dolores' memory.
