Our beloved mother, Dolores Y. "Vonnie? Follette, 76, a resident of Hiawatha Care Center, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2005. Private graveside services will take place at Garden of Memories in Waterloo at a later date. The family will greet friends from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion.
"Vonnie? is survived by four daughters, Sheri (Jim) DeBates, Julie (Ken) Primmer, Vicky (Bob) Downs and Wendy (Dan) Gilbert.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a half-sister, Ruth Berg.
"Vonnie? was born the daughter of Oscar and Minnie (Ask) Monson on May 13, 1928, in Decorah, Iowa. On September 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to Ronald Follette. He died on September 30, 2000. She taught at River Hills School in Cedar Falls for twenty-seven years prior to her retirement.
