Dixie Lou Washburn, 65, formerly of 440 26th Street, Marion, died Sunday, January 3, 2010, at Crestview Acres Care Center, Marion. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 9-11:00 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial: Oakshade Cemetery, Marion.
She is survived by her brother, Donald Washburn, and his wife Marlene of Marion. Also surviving are her special friend, Richard Wheeler, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew, Tod Washburn.
Dixie was born December 10, 1944, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Everett and Ruth Washburn. Before she became ill, Dixie was employed by TJMaxx. She loved sports and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Dixie’s memory.
