Dion "Don" O'Loughlin

Dion “Don” O’Loughlin, 80, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Peace Christian Reformed Church, 6600 C Avenue NE in Cedar Rapids, conducted by Reverend Gary Brouwers. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dion was born January 27, 1937, on a farm in Washington County, the son of Harlan and Louise (Shafer) O’Loughlin. He graduated from Washington High School in Washington, Iowa, in 1955, and from Coe College in Cedar Rapids in 1961. Don was united in marriage to Patricia Hill on February 3, 1960, in Marengo. He worked as an Insurance adjuster and owned his own business, Merry Maids. Don was a member of Peace Christian Reformed Church.
Don is survived by his wife, Patricia O’Loughlin of Marion; son, Michael O’Loughlin (Hector Cuebas) of Marion; daughter, Janice (LeRoy) Gill of Lynchburg, Virginia; grandson, Zachery Sohner of Chesapeake, Virginia; granddaughter, Lindsey Parrish of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
