Dijoun Malik Fluckes-Johnson, 22, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away suddenly on June 15, 2019. The family will greet friends from 1 – 3 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. A Memorial Service will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born to Roschell Fluckes and Julian Johnson in Chicago IL on February 22, 1997. Dijoun attended Cedar Rapids Schools and graduated from West High School in Davenport, Iowa.
He later had a son, Marcellus on February 7, 2018.
Most recently, he worked as a Material Handler at Associate Materials during the remainder of his time. Dijoun loved sports, making money, family get togethers; especially Thanksgiving, taking care of his son, and he always had jokes. He had a great sense of humor and would always say, “I GOT THIS”. His mom nicknamed him “Sonny”, to most of his family he was “DJ”, and then later on in life, because he called himself, “The Money Man”, his friends nicknamed him, “Splurge”.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Melvin Cosby and Walter Johnson; and his uncle, Steven Johnson.
Dijoun leaves to cherish, his son, Marcellus Douglass Smith; his mother, Roschell Fluckes (James Fitch); and father, Julian (Janiece) Johnson. He also leaves, his girlfriend, Holly Smith; great-grandfather, Odell Cosby Sr.; great-grandmother, Bobbi Johnson; his grandmothers, Gloria Flukes and Katie (Thomas) Johnson; nine sisters, Tierra Johnson, Jada Fluckes, Checree Fitch, Regina Davis, Danyal Davis, Veronica Johnson, Zarita Johnson, Juanita Johnson and Julia Johnson; three brothers, Jamar Fitch, Julian Johnson Jr., and Kevajea Fitch; thirteen aunties, Shirley Fluckes, Olive Johnson, Wendy Fluckes, Tawana Johnson, Minna, Davidson, Sandra Fluckes , Diana Fluckes, Lashantha Franklin, Taronda Franklin, Rachel Fluckes, Sade Grant , Teresa Cosby, and Alday Kay Fluckes; seven uncles, Senceque (Terry) Fluckes, Walter (Julia) Johnson, Dwayne Fluckes, Melvin Fluckes Terrance Fluckes , Alvin Johnson, and Tommy Cosby; nephew, Demari; two nieces, Queen and Jaianna. Dijoun also leaves behind a host of devoted cousins, friends, and other relatives.
