Diane was born on September 16, 1954, to LaVerne and Dorothy (Francois) Roling in Manchester, IA, the oldest of eight children. Diane grew up in Earlville, attending St Joseph's Catholic school and graduated in 1972 from Beckman High School in Dyersville. She spent her younger years helping in the family grocery store, babysitting, and helping with her younger siblings. After high school, Diane went straight to work for different companies before beginning her 40+ year career at CUNA Mutual. There, Diane worked for ten years as an executive secretary. In 1991, Diane received a promotion to the Executive Secretary for the Eastern Region of the Plan America program. In this role, Diane helped her boss, Wayne Benson, open up Plan American District offices throughout the Eastern half of the U.S. In 1993, Diane was promoted to Administrative Manager for the SE Marketing Division in Atlanta, GA. Here, she was part of the leadership team of the top Marketing Division for the company for almost 10 years. In the mid-2000s, she moved back to Madison where she ultimately supported CUNA Credit Union, now Summit Credit Union. Diane's dedication to her work, caring, commitment, and professionalism were attributes that earned her the respect from anyone that she led or interacted with. In her free time, Diane enjoyed golfing, shopping, watching the Badgers, and, most of all, the beach! Diane loved to have her toes in the sand, her face in the sun, and a drink in her hand! Diane was a very thoughtful and caring person who often bought little gifts or cards for the people she cared about. Her attention to detail made her a natural at planning parties and vacations.

Left to remember Diane are her six siblings: Duane (Deb) Roling of Dyersville, Dan (Diane) Roling of Cedar Rapids, Deb (Keith) Hunt of Earlville, Darlene Hass (Mark Anderson) of Van Horne, Dawn Roling and Doug (Angie) Roling, all of Cedar Rapids, 18 nieces and nephews, 39 great-nieces and nephews, special aunt Lori Prantner, and life-long best friend Marian Hayes, as well as an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister in infancy, Denise Frances Roling, great-niece Laina Roling, her grandparents: Clarence and Ida Francois and Theodore and Frances Roling as well as many aunts and uncles.

Diane's family would like to thank her friends who provided loving care for her as she battled cancer: Marian Hayes, Lori Prantner, Tricia Chrisler, Susan Arthur, and Cheryl Moe-Erickson and the doctors and staff of UW Hospitals.
