Diane Pal, 46, of Hiawatha, died Friday, October 7, 2011 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Burial and Gathering: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Palo Cemetery. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, Iowa
Diane was born September 30, 1965, the daughter of LaVerne and Patricia (Swanson) Martens in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Prairie High School in 1984. Diane worked as a contact lens specialist for an optical business.Diane was a wonderful mother and was the backbone of the family. She was fun, out-going, good-hearted and always there for everyone. Diane loved her cats.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacie Horn; her husband Madan; her mother, Pat Martens; a sister, Laura Martens; nephew Reggie Harris; great niece, Arianna Harris; special friends, William Stewart, Ericka Odneal, the Kvidahl family and her cats, Stella, Flower and Gizzy.
She was preceded in death by her father and her grandmother Leola.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Diane’s memory.
