Diane M. John-Smith, 55, of Marion, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at her home. Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2009 at Christ Episcopal Church in Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 12 ?" 1 p.m., Monday at the church. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include her mother, Irene Smith; brothers, James Smith of Marshalltown and Jeff (Sharon) Smith of Round Rock, Texas; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Josh) Clemann of Cedar Rapids and Haleigh and Mason Smith of Round Rock, Texas; great nieces and nephews, Raelynn, Halie, and Hunter Clemann; many cousins and friends; and her cat, Epiffany.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marvon Smith.
Diane was born May 22, 1954, the daughter of Marvon and Irene (Kulhavy) Smith, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Cedar Rapids. Diane volunteered for many organizations and loved playing and writing music.
