Diane Marie (Barnes) Powell, 62, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away in her home on Saturday, January 28, 2017. Private Services will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa, Iowa.
Diane was born in Anamosa, Iowa, daughter of B.A. and Nelda Barnes on September 2, 1954. She graduated from Anamosa High School in 1972. Diane served in the U.S. Air Force. She was dedicated to her Indian heritage.
Survivors include her three daughters, Sheila Comer of Georgia, Kesha Powell of Cedar Rapids and Mary Ellen Powell of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Nelda Barnes; three brothers, John (Gail) Barnes, Kirby (Carol) Barnes, Kerry (Carla) Barnes; and grandchild, Blaze.
She was preceded in death by her father, B.A. “Barney” Barnes; brothers, Steven Barnes and Kevin Barnes.
