Diana "Diane" Lynn Ray

Diana “Diane” Lynn Ray, 70, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at her home. A Memorial will be held at a future date in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Diane was born on October 20, 1952, in Hopkinton, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Anna (Kirby) Sackett. She was a graduate of Maquoketa Valley High School in Delhi, Iowa. In 1970, Diane was united in marriage to Robert Alan Ray, and they moved to Marion in 1972. Diane loved a good steak. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, margaritas, and couldn’t pass up a penny slot. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Diane is greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Diane is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Jeremy Ray of Missouri, Jason (Cammy) Ray of Los Angeles, California, and Jessica (Miranda) Ray of Madison, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Michaela (Jake), Jacob, Alec, Elliott, and Elexus; 2 great grandchildren, Remington and Elvira; four sisters, Virginia Flannigan of Marion, Mary Soukup of New Mexico, Jude (Merle) Boeckenstedt of Manchester, Iowa, and Sharon (Mick) Jones of Delhi; and her cat, Mater.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 44 years, Bob; a son, Todd Ray; sister, Charlotte Zumbach; brother, John Sackett; and her dear cat, Humphrey.
