Dewayne "Jake" H. Neibert

DeWayne “Jake” H. Neibert, 67, of Mechanicsville, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021, at his home in Mechanicsville. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021, at the funeral home. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
Jake was born on October 23, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Riley and Betty (Anderson) Neibert. He worked as an industrial mechanic for 35 years in Cedar Rapids. Jake always loved the outdoors; farming, gardening, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed cooking, woodworking, carpentry, and tinkering on anything mechanical. Jake especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their school sports events. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jake is survived and lovingly remembered by his significant other, Glee Neibert of Solon, Iowa; son, Colby (Samantha) Neibert of Solon; two grandchildren, Jake and Sydney; three brothers, Maurice Neibert of Central City, Royce Neibert of New Prague, Minnesota, and Tim Neibert of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Betty Neibert; and sister-in-law, Lari Jo Neibert.
