Dennis L. "Den" Haas, 52, of Earlville, died Friday, October 24, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a heart attack.
A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester, Iowa. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday and one hour before Memorial Services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Manchester.
Dennis was born on September 14, 1956, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Nicholas LaVerne & Mavis R. [DuBois] Haas. He attended school in Dubuque, graduating from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1974. He operated “Den’s Towing and Sales” in Earlville for the past 23 years. On February 7, 2008, Dennis was married to Del Rose A. Fangmann-Hentges in Galena, Illinois.
Dennis was on the Earlville Planning & Zoning Board. He enjoyed towing at the stock car races, going to swap meets and playing cards. Dennis loved spending time with his friends, family and especially his grandsons.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Del Rose Haas of Earlville; daughters, Nicole [Brent] Robinson and Laura Haas [David Halweg] all of Earlville; three grandsons, Landyn Nicholas Haas, Brenyn William Robinson and Gabriel LaVerne Halweg; his mother, Mavis R. Haas of Earlville; two sisters, Pamela Jean [Joe] Hoerner of Davenport and Sheryl Ann [Andy] Randall of Madison, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas LaVerne Haas.
