Dennis Lee Booth, 69, of Central City, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016, at First United Methodist Church in Central City by Pastor Josh Hansen. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene; four daughters, Shari (Dan) Kuykendall of Oregon, Carie Lyn & companion Neil of Anamosa, Teri (Perry) Breyman of Oregon, and Kimberly (Jorge) Almodovar of Huntley, Illinois; a son, Nicholas (Daphne) Booth of Lisbon, thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a great-grandchild due this month; and a sister, Kathleen (Ralph) Crigler of Oklahoma.
Dennis was born June 16, 1946, the son of Claire and Marjorie (Albaugh) Booth in Cedar Rapids. On November 17, 1979, he married Marlene Cooper in Central City. Dennis was an Auto Body Repairman, retiring in November of 2015.
He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Central City. Dennis was a Leader of the Linn County 4-H Youth Council and had a passion for working with the youth at the Linn County Fair. He was also a member of Linn County Youth Programs. Dennis was a retired Central City Volunteer Firefighter & Ambulance Service who loved helping with the Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast. He loved cooking for family & friends and was famous for his biscuits and gravy. Dennis enjoyed talking about history and spending time with his grandchildren. His priority in his life was God and his family.
