Delpha M. Honn, 91, formerly of Manchester and Ryan, died Thursday afternoon, March 11, 2004 at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood, Iowa following a long illness.
At Delpha?s request, her body was cremated. Private graveside services will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Ryan at a later date.
Delpha was born on May 31, 1912 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Peter A. and Dollie (Fritz) Klienow. At the age of two she made her home in McGregor with her maternal grandparents, John and Sylvia Fritz. She attended school in Clayton County. On September 1, 1930 Delpha was united in marriage to Harvey Honn in McGregor. The couple moved to Ryan in 1957 where Harvey worked as a fieldman for the Ryan Creamery. He passed away on October 5, 1971. Delpha suffered a stroke on July 4, 1994 from which she never fully recovered. She moved into the Edgewood Convalescent Home in 1998.
Delpha was a member of the F.O.E. Auxiliary of Manchester.
Delpha is survived by her son, Ronald (Hulda) Honn of Longmont, CO; a daughter, Carole (Richard) Hoelzer of Pearland, TX; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Harvey Honn.
