Delores was born September 8, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Robert and Mildred (Morgan) Horak. Herman Nebiker Jr. came into her life, and they were married on April 16, 1950. They made their home in Cedar Rapids.
She is survived by her two children, Richard (Cori) Nebiker, and Penny Barton (Daniel Koepping) both of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Heidi (Furas) Bouz of Lexington, KY, Cassi (Ryan) Quinby of Marion, and Apollo Barton, Nicholas and Sam Nebiker, all of Cedar Rapids; and eight great-grandchildren, Hallie and Mackenzie Wheeler, Nawal and Elias Bouz, all of Lexington, KY, Cevan Walton and Cayden Quinby of Marion, and Cora and Logan Barton of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, and parents, Mildred and Keith.
Along with her husband, she belonged to the Sports Club of America and Volkswagon Club. She was an avid reader. She and her husband had a large vegetable garden that they tended for over 50 years. Delores loved children, so she helped in the Salem United Methodist Church Nursery for over 40 years, until the flood of 2008. She always put her family first, and was a wonderful and loving mother, wife, and grandparent. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
Delores’ family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice of Mercy.
