Delores M. Mccormick

Delores M. McCormick, 94, of Toddville, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, a Funeral Mass for the family will be held at St. Piux X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, conducted by Reverend Phillip Thompson. A committal service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Van Horne, Iowa.
Delores was born on April 17, 1926, in Keystone, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Esther (Schliemann) Mussman. She was a graduate of Keystone High School. On November 16, 1953, Delores was united in marriage to Gene T. McCormick at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She was a homemaker and helped work on the family farm. Delores was a member of the Toddville American Legion Auxiliary, Greens Grove Sewing Circle, and a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards and quilting. Delores quilted with three to six ladies every Tuesday during the winter months for over 22 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Delores will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Delores is survived and lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Diane (Ed) Franklin of Cedar Rapids, Debbie McCormick of Toddville, and Cindy (Scott) Hendryx and Karen (Steve) Milota both of Center Point, Iowa; three grandchildren, Damon (Jodelle) Franklin of Marion, Iowa, Lance (Kristina) Franklin of Aurora, Colorado, and Jared “J.J.” Franklin of Amana, Iowa; three step-grandchildren, Shelly Hendryx (fiancé, Bill Avis) of Walker, Iowa, Scotty (Tammy) Hendryx and James (Lori) Hendryx, both of Center Point, Iowa; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jeanean Coleman of Grundy Center, Iowa, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Esther Mussman; husband, Gene McCormick; infant son, Michael McCormick, and brother, Don Mussman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Delores’ memory may be made to either Toddville American Legion Auxiliary Post #674 or Camp Courageous.
