Delores Mae DuBois, 83, of Manchester, Iowa, formerly of Delhi, Iowa died early Sunday morning, September 14, 2003, at the Regional Medical Center, Manchester, Iowa after a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2003, at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour before services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Manchester.

Delores was born on April 27, 1920, in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Theresa and Earl Hamann. Delores attended public school in Racine, Wisconsin. She sewed shirts for the military during World War II. On April 26, 1945, Delores was united in marriage to Harvey E. "Ed? DuBois in Chicago, Illinois. They settled in Manchester, Iowa where they owned and operated Best Cleaners until selling the business in 1977. Delores then went to work for Rockwell Collins in Manchester, Iowa until her retirement in 1986. Delores and Ed began wintering in Englewood, Florida. Ed died on January 1, 1999.

Delores enjoyed touring with the Emerald Club to the gambling boats. She enjoyed the card game Pinochle, bowling and playing bingo.

Delores is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Diane & Ambrose Heying of Omaha, NE, and Patricia & Robert Stanley II of Katy, TX; her son and his wife, Dave & Susi DuBois of New Vienna, IA; eight grandchildren, Aimee (Michael) Hopkins of Clute, TX, Robert (Melissa) Stanley III of Whitharral, TX, Michelle (Rick) Souerdyke of Bruning, NE, Angela (Steve) Boudreaux of Seabrook, TX, Zachary (Jaclyn) Stanley of Brookshire, TX, Jon DuBois of North Liberty, IA, Gina DuBois of Cedar Falls, IA, and Laura DuBois of New Vienna, IA; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Hamann of Las Vegas, NV; and five sisters, Ruth Meyer of Port Charlotte, FL, Barbara Suchy of Delavan, WI, Marjorie Sebetic of Kenosha, WI, Tracy Thieringer of Port Charlotte, FL, and Helen Woods of Ocala, FL.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Theresa Hamann; her husband, Harvey E. "Ed? DuBois; two brothers, Earl Hamann and Ed Hamann; three sisters, Florence Druktenis, Pearl Pahl, and Dorothy Hamann; and one great-grandchild, Kaitlyn Stanley.
