Delbert “Toby” Koeppen, 89, of Marion, went to be with the Lord and to join his beloved wife, Eunice, Thursday, January 21, 2016. Visitation: 3 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church in Marion. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday January 25, 2016 at the church by Pastor John Albertson and Pastor Amy Waelchli. Inurnment 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 25 at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

Survivors include his sons, Eric (Cathy) Koeppen, Noel Koeppen, and James (Kristin) Koeppen, 9 grandchildren, Jeremy (Mandy) Koeppen, Kyle (Chelsea) Koeppen, Allison Beltz (Matt Griersberg), Colin, Cole, Caleb, Sydney, Elizabeth and Emma Koeppen; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eunice; two brothers, Arthur and Orlean; and one sister, Mary Ann Boddiker.

Toby was born February 3, 1926 in Luzerne, Iowa to Ernest and Mary (Kubite) Koeppen. After graduating from Keystone High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country honorably for 4 years. Toby married Eunice Butters September 8, 1951 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. She passed away in 2011. He worked at Rockwell Collins for 37 years. Toby was a Charter Member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marion and a member of American Legion Post #298 of Marion.

He loved to play cards, especially poker and euchre. Toby was an avid outdoorsman who shared his love of the outdoors with his sons.
