Delbert V. Kula, 72, of Waubeek, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairieburg by Rev. Wayne Droessler. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Jordan?s Grove Cemetery, rural Central City with military honors.

Survivors include his wife, Doris of Waubeek; a son, Michael Kula of Anamosa; a daughter, Tami Neal of Waubeek; three sisters, Vivian Rickels of Monticello, Rosemary (Loren) Zabokrtsky of Cedar Rapids and Mary Jean (Dale) Muller of Cedar Rapids; six brothers, Virgil (Jean) Kula of Cedar Rapids, LeRoy Kula of Central City, Robert Kula of Anamosa, Richard Kula of Cedar Rapids, Ronald J. Kula of Cedar Rapids and John J. Kula of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons, Eric Kula and Ryan Neal; and two dogs he called his girls, Chipper and Idget.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ray Kula.

Delbert was born December 5, 1932, the son of Raymond and Emma (Holub) Kula in Anamosa. On September 14, 1957, he married Doris Halstead in Cedar Rapids. Delbert served with the U.S. Navy. He retired from Iowa Manufacturing where he worked as an electrician.

Military honors will be provided by Amvets No. 37 and American Legion Wapsi Post No. 421.
