Deborah Jo Stevens (Bernacki)
September 28, 1950 — May 21, 2007
Deborah Jo Stevens, 56, of 214 Midway Drive, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at home, surrounded by her loving family, following a long illness. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2007, at New Creation United Methodist Chuch in Cedar Rapids by Rev. Kathy Moore. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Reed of Marion; her father, Edward Bernacki of Cedar Rapids; her children, Steven Geske of Rochester, New York, Stephannie Geske of Elgin, Texas, Stacie Fortson of Salida, Colorado, Monica Stevens of Cedar Rapids, and Tawnia June of Marion; five grandchildren, Julian and Charlie Jo Geske, James Moore, Ani Stevens, Elizabeth Fortson.
Also surviving are two sisters, Beth Hiner of Springville and Jess Bernacki of Hazelton; and two brothers, Daniel Bernacki of North Liberty and David Bernacki of Walford.
Deborah was born September 28, 1950, the daughter of Edward and Wanda (Farmer) Bernacki in Waterloo. On July 26, 1997, she married Reed J. Stevens in Harpers Ferry. Deborah worked at GE Capital, Financial Division, for seven years in Customer Service.
Deb and Reed enjoyed their time together at the cabin in Harpers Ferry. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, co-worker, and friend. She touched many lives in many different ways and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established in Deborah's memory.
