Deanna Holsinger, 49, of Walker, Iowa, died Monday, August 1, 2011, in her home. Services: noon Friday, August 5, 2011, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Viewing: 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The family will greet friends during a luncheon at 2 p.m. at the Troy Mills Legion.
Survivors include her husband, Brad; her sons, Ben Holsinger of Hiawatha, Nick Holsinger of Hiawatha, Alex Holsinger of Walker and Kaleb Holsinger of Walker; father, Charles (Carol) Peters of Urbana; mother, Dolores (William) Vozenilek of Walker; and grandchildren, Avery, Emmalee and Troy. Also surviving are her siblings, Lorene (Tom) Spencer of Vinton, Mark (Jacqueline) Peters of Billings, Montana, Michael (Melissa) Lindsey of Earham, Lisa (Jeff) Holten of Vinton and Kurt Peters of Cedar Rapids; and her grandmother, Emny Johnson of Walker.
Deanna was preceded in death by her grandparents, Loren Johnson and Chuck and Ruth Peters;
Born December 30, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Deanna was the daughter of Charles Peters and Dolores (Johnson) Vozenilek. She graduated from Vinton High School in 1980. On July 18, 1981, she married Bradley Holsinger in the First Christian Church in Center Point and they settled in the Walker area where she was a homemaker and raised her family.
Deanna enjoyed gardening and loved her pets. She was a volunteer in the kindergarten classroom at Walker Elementary.
