Dean Alen Schloss, 45, of 201 Michael Street SW, died Friday, March 28, 2003, in his home, following a long illness. Services: 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dr. Robert Burkhart. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2003 at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda; his children, Brandon Schloss, Heather Schloss, both of Cedar Rapids, Jessica Schloss, James Schloss, Jazmin Schloss and Justin Schloss, all of Olin; two granddaughters, Sydney and Chelsea; a stepdaughter, Amber Melvin of Cedar Rapids; two stepgrandsons, Tristin and Johnathan; three sisters, Cindy Schloss Calhoun of Des Moines, Kim Schloss-King and Lisa Williams, both of Cedar Rapids; two stepbrothers, Brian Williams of Cedar Rapids and Kevin Williams of Houston, Texas; many nieces and nephews; a great-niece; and his dog, Missy Dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and stepfather, Jack Williams.
Dean was born January 13, 1958, the son of Robert and Sandra Stanek Schloss, in Killeen, Texas. On October 2, 1999, he married Glenda Roosa. Dean worked as a machinist for BeeLine Products in Cedar Rapids and TTS in Ely. He attended St. Paul?s United Methodist Church. Dean loved to go camping, fishing and collecting and growing cacti. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
