Dean Logan Mossbarger, “Moose”, 80, of Marion, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at his home. Celebration of Life will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Dean was born March 12, 1938, in Iowa County, Iowa, the son of John and Frances (Whiteford) Mossbarger. He was a 1957 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. Dean worked at Rockwell Collins for 38 years as a machinist and was a member of the Rockwell Machinist Union. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, and fishing. Dean was a wood turner and loved woodworking as a member of the Cedar Valley Wood Turners Club.
He is survived by his wife and partner of over 30 years, Jody Warren; four children, Monica (Greg) Luse of Cedar Rapids, Marlena (Bill McReynolds) Mossbarger of Dallas, Texas, Mona Mossbarger of Urbana, and David Mossbarger of Cedar Rapids; two step-children, Scott Warren of Wilton and David Warren of Missoula, Montana; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lavon “Bonnie” Leach.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dean’s memory.
