Dean Richard Mefferd, 23, of Marion, formerly of Hiawatha, died Thursday, March 24, 2005. Services: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Glenn Hunt. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Lori Collingwood of Marion; his father, David Mefferd of Cedar Rapids; his grandparents, Wilma Mefferd of Cedar Rapids and Harold and Shirley Zink of Cedar Rapids; his aunt, Barbara Zamorano of Morro Bay, California; his uncle, James Zink of LaVista, Nebraska; and two cousins, Jennifer Zink of Hamburg, Iowa and Trevor Zamorano of Morro Bay, California.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alfred Mefferd.
Dean was born October 28, 1981, the son of Lori Zink and David Mefferd in Cedar Rapids. He worked for Quality Chef in Cedar Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
