Dean L. Havel, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Family arranged services will be held Monday, June 7, 2021, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass to begin 10:30 a.m.
Dean was born January 20, 1940, the son of Louis and Ruth (Shalla) Havel. He was united in marriage to Mary Valant on January 6, 1962, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Before he retired, Dean worked at Wilson’s/Farmstead and Heinz.
Dean is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Chris (Lori), Mike (Vickie), Scott, and Brien; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Dennis (Susan) Havel; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
