Dean F. Driscoll, 69, of 5830 Sanden Rd., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, February 27, 2004, in University Hospitals, Iowa City, following a short illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Karl Glovik. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.

Survivors include his wife, Nell; his children, Andrea Driscoll of Chelsea, Massachusetts; Douglas Driscoll of Sarasota, Florida, and residing in Cedar Rapids, Blake Boyson, Brett Boyson and his wife Jody; his grandchildren, Eli and Dana Driscoll, Brendan Boyson and Ryan Webster; a sister, Frances Reed of Cedar Rapids; five brothers, Ray of San Diego, California, Merle of Lake Alfred, Florida; Clarence of Yuma, Arizona; Don of Ankeny, Iowa, and Bill of Ames, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Francis, John, Lawrence and Robert; and an infant son, Bradley Dean.

Dean was born September 16, 1934, the son of Francis and Agnes (Kelly) Driscoll, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, he graduated from Wilson High School and served in the Iowa National Guard 224th Battalion. Dean married Nell Boyson on November 11, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the proprietor of Dean Driscoll Construction for the past 25 years. Dean belonged to the American Legion in North Liberty and the Elks Club in Cedar Rapids.

His passion was golfing with his friends. He also enjoyed fishing in Canada and reading non-fiction material.
