As a youth, Dayton especially enjoyed playing baseball. As an adult, he enjoyed bowling, golf, bicycle riding, jogging and working out at the Collins Rec. Center until his illness was diagnosed in 2003 and then progressed. His interests and talents were varied: art, history, reading, genealogy, bridge, computers, symphony concerts and crocheting. He especially enjoyed Marilyn’s Camp Fire youth groups’ and family vacations to most of the United States and some places beyond, especially to Paris in 1993 with Coe College and to Norway in 2001 to visit relatives.
The family is appreciative of the MANY medical people who helped Dayton in his four years of illness and recent care at Milestones in Marion, the Summit Pointe Memory Care Unit and from St. Luke’s Hospice.
Dayton’s gentle good nature will be missed by many.
