Dawn Cannon, 55, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at her home after a long battle with cancer. The family will greet friends 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017, at Ascension Lutheran Church, Marion. Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Ascension conducted by Pastor Linda Livingston. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.

Dawn is survived by her husband of 30 years, Pat; children, Aaron (Kristin) Cannon of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and Ellen Cannon of Marion; parents, Luverne and Shirley Druecker of Marion; brother, Dean (Rosie) Druecker and their son, Kaden of Cedar Rapids; father-in-law, John Cannon of Dubuque; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike (Christy) Cannon of Clinton, Mark (Mary Jo) Cannon of Dubuque, Mary Jo (Greg) Schoepke of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Ann (Rich) Lewitzke of Watertown, Wisconsin, Sue (Paul) Eaves of Richardson, Texas, Dan (Lisa) Cannon of Mt. Vernon, and Dave (Salena) Cannon of Wiley, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Grandma Helen and her Aunt Carol who both fought battles with cancer.

Dawn was born November 11, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Luverne and Shirley (Mezra) Druecker. She graduated from Marion High School, Coe College with her Bachelor’s degree, and Clarke College with her Master’s degree. Dawn was united in marriage on May 23, 1987 to Patrick Cannon in Dubuque, Iowa. For five years, she was a teacher at Western Dubuque School District and then worked at Rockwell for 28 ½ years. Dawn was an avid swimmer and very active in her church, Stephen’s Ministry, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. Viewing mountains brought her great joy.
