David Lee Thornton, 51, of 1080 Blairs Ferry Rd., died Saturday, October 30, 2004. Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at River of Life Ministries, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia of Marion; two sons, James V. Thornton of Zambia, Africa and Tyson L. Thronton of Marion; a daughter, Jill A. Thornton of California; a step-daughter, Adrianne T. Jones of Marion; three brothers, James L. Thornton of Waco, Texas, Edwin D. Thornton and wife Sherry of Cedar Rapids and Robert F. Thornton and wife Dixie of Cedar Rapids; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary J. Thornton; and a brother, Edwin J. Thornton Jr.
David was born November 4, 1952, the son of Edwin J. and Lillian D. (Jordan) Thornton Sr., in Staten Island, New York. He married Cynthia Nieland December 25, 1987, in Cedar Rapids. David worked for the Ar-Jay Center as a heating and cooling technician.
