David A. Runde Sr., 58, of Marion, died Friday, November 24, 2006, at St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a sudden illness. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; his children, Dana L. Foote (George) of California, David A. Runde Jr. (Leslie) of Marion, Nick A. Runde (Heidi) of Creston, Jamie A. Runde of Rockford, Illinois, Jeff A. Woodard of Cedar Rapids, and Rebecca S. Higham (Jim) of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Dalton and Samantha Runde, Bryce Foote, Daisy and Noah Runde, Casey, Jade and Devin Runde, and Steven Higham; his mother, Rosalinda Runde of Menominee, Illinois; and two sisters, Ruth (Bob) Brimeyer and Barb Moore, both of Rockford, Illinois.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Runde, and a brother, John Runde.
Dave was the son of Bernard and Rosalinda (Wubben) Runde, and was born on June 3, 1948, in Rockford, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Susan K. Luke on May 13, 1983, in Cedar Rapids. Dave owned and operated Runde?s Welding and did volunteer work for Tanager Place and Camp Courageous.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Dave was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
