David Nelson McShane, 58, of 4154 George Way, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at his home, following a lingering illness. Services: 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Monica Carpenter. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial: Springville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; five children, David (Carmen) McShane of Altoona, Jody (Lisa) McShane of Louisville, Kentucky, Wade (Tara) McShane of Earlville, Megan McShane and Dusty McShane, both at home; his mother, Alma Bernadine Roberts of Central City; a brother, Verne McShane of Central City; a sister, Sara (Robert) Lawrence of Delhi; and four grandchildren, Michelle, Sean, Josie and Cassidy.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Martin McShane.
David was born January 20, 1946, the son of Orville and Alma Bernadine (VanHorne) McShane, in Cedar Rapids. On August 1, 1965, he married Nancy Dean in Viola. David was a carpenter and a member of Carpenter?s Union Local # 308. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horse racing, gardening, mushroom hunting, wood working and singing country and western music.
