David D. Martin, 51, of Marion, Iowa and formerly of Mancheser, died Friday evening, November 4, 2005, at his home from short illness.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 9,

2005, at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home in Manchester.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. His cremains will be scattered at a later date.

David was born September 25, 1954 in Vallejo, California, the son of

Harold "Harry" H. and V. Anne (Tibbitts) Martin. He graduated from West Delaware High School in 1973. For three years, David worked for the circus before he began trucking for Miller Trucking Co. in Hugo, Oklahoma. He then

moved to Sarasota, Florida where he lived for fifteen years, working in the air conditioning and sheet metal business. In May of 1991, David returned to Iowa where he worked construction before becoming disabled. David served in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to Claudia "Jean" Klepach on May 10, 1997 in Manchester.

David enjoyed playing euchre, coin collecting, woodworking, and visiting the zoo. He especially loved animals and John Wayne.

David is survived by his wife, Claudia "Jean" Martin of Marion; four children, Angela (Calvin) Fox, Joshua Martin and John (Ashley) Martin, all of Sarasota, FL and Chris (Amy) Klepach of Hiawatha; seven grandchildren; his mother, V. Anne Martin of Manchester; a sister and brother, Julie and Donald Martin, both of Manchester; and nieces and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his father, Harry Martin; sisters, Kathy Gusti and Jill Martin; and a niece, Jennifer Guisti.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a

memorial fund to be established.
