David D. Kula, 56, of 1880 48th St. Court, Marion, died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at St. Luke?s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, by the Rev. Jonna Jensen. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Prairieburg, with military honors provided by Central City American Legion Wapsi Post No. 421 and Central City Amvets Post No. 37.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; a daughter, Julie Kula of Cedar Rapids; four brothers, Leroy "Danny? Kula of Independence, Kevin Kula (fianc?e Cherie) of Coggon, Matt (Debbie) Kula of Cedar Rapids and Mark (Karen) Kula of Prairieburg; a sister, Dee-Dee (Jack) Kintzle of Coggon; and three grandchildren, Little Man, Bobbie Joe and Breana.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

David was born September 15, 1950, in Anamosa, the son of Leroy and Margaret (Came) Kula. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On July 23, 1971, he was united in marriage to Janet Chafin in Texas.
