David Michael Hatt, 58, of 330 29th St. Drive SE, formerly of Marion, died Wednesday, February 5, 2003, at St. Luke?s Hospital, following a sudden illness. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. John Gossman. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include three daughters, Jenifer Myers and husband J. Eddy of Cedar Rapids, Nicole Carlson and husband Doug of Coggon and Michelle Stafford and husband Glenn of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Grace R. Hatt of Marion; a brother, Vincent J. Hatt and wife Janice of La Crosse, Wisconsin; three sisters, Linda Lundahl of Marion, Roseanne Ewing and husband Lon of Bellveue, Nebraska and Graceanne Hatt of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Amber Hatt, Jesse Stafford, Brittany Carlson and Jasmine Stafford; a special niece, Jamie Lundahl of Marion; and a special aunt, Leah Cira of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his father.
David was born September 29, 1944, the son of Vincent C. and Grace R. (Cira) Hatt. He married Peggy Westveer on January 23, 1971. They later divorced. David was a graduate of Regis High School and the University of Iowa. He was a published writer and poet. David was currently employed by HACAP. He was a member of Mensa Society and an avid Chicago Cubs Fan.
