David Ellsworth Giffin
March 20, 1946 — April 22, 2003
David Ellsworth Giffin, 57, of rural Mt. Vernon, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, in his home after a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Richard Davis and Tim Vaughan. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Graveside Committal Service: 3 p.m. Saturday at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, Iowa.
Survivors include his mother, Adella Mae Giffin of Burlington, Iowa; a brother, Mike (Teresa) Giffin of Burlington, Iowa; a sister, Carol (Don) Hallenbeck of Nashua, New Hampshire; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
David was born March 20, 1946, the son of Robert E. and Adella Mae Sargeant Giffin in Waterloo. He graduated from Mediapolis High School and attended Burlington Business College. David was an accountant with Iowa Electric Light & Power Company for twenty years. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.
