David “Dave” Arthur Rawson, 64, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Marion. The family will greet friends from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, with a Memorial Service beginning at 6:30 p.m. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Illinois.

 Dave was born on November 23, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Darrell and Nancy (Parizek) Rawson. He was a graduate of Hoffman Estates High School in Illinois. Dave was a hard worker. He had worked various maintenance technician jobs in the bowling industry over the last 40 years, most recently as the lead mechanic at Cedar Rapids Bowling Center in Marion. Dave found great joy in music and was a vinyl enthusiast. He could often be found playing his drums and listening to his collection of albums. He was a Deadhead, with The Grateful Dead being one of his favorites. He enjoyed being with his dog, Cosmos, riding his Harley, spending time at the lake with his family, working out, and watching the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks. Most of all, Dave loved his family. He was fondly known for showing up unannounced. Dave will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

 Dave is survived and lovingly remembered by his father, Darrell (Helen) Rawson of Anamosa, Iowa; brother, Allen (Marion) Rawson of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; sister, Mindy (Al) Schock of Waukesha, Wisconsin; nieces, Becky (Kevin) Hennessy of Huntley, Illinois, Bridget (Richard) Schock Anderson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Rachel (Michael) Treml of West Allis, Wisconsin, and Ashley (Christopher) Schamerhorn of Sussex, Wisconsin; great-nieces/nephews, Tyler, Hailey, Logan, Wesley, and Piper; and companion, Sandy Morrissey. 

 He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Rawson.
