David 'Dave' L. Facion Jr.

David “Dave” L. Facion, Jr., 43 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday December 6, 2023. The family will host services with a visitation on Tuesday December 12, 2023, from 4 – 7 p.m. at St Paul’s United Methodist Church at 1340 3rd Ave SE in Cedar Rapids. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the church with a luncheon to follow at the church. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids assisted the family.
David Lewis Facion, Jr. was born December 24, 1979, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to David Facion Sr. and Julie Facion. Dave graduated from Washington High School in 1998. He was a “jack of all trades”, finding success in a variety of jobs. He was working for Ryder Logistics at the time of his passing. Dave will be remembered for his wicked sense of humor and quick wit, as well as his passion for all things Star Wars.
Dave is survived by his wife and soul mate, Jennifer Facion and his four adored children, Taryn, Emersyn, Noah, and Jonah; mother, Julie Facion; father, David Sr.; stepmother, Cindee; grandmother, Betty Facion all of Cedar Rapids; father-in-law, Steve Davis; sister-in-law, Jamie Cummins (Scott Thorne); brother-in-law, Jesse (Laurel) Davis, all of Cedar Rapids. Others left to cherish his memory include uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved him. Also, he is survived by his lifelong best friend, Kinzell (Katlyn) Aaron. Dave is also survived by his cats, who he pretended he didn’t want but absolutely adored.
Dave was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Virgil Facion and Ronald Fisher, Patricia Fisher, and mother-in-law, Kathy Davis.
Dave lost his battle with the cancer known as depression and while his life will be remembered for the love and laughter he left behind, it is important that his death also has meaning. There is help, and hope when you feel like you can’t go on. Call or text 988. Don’t give up. Keep your light.
