David Allen Bailey, 70, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Unity Point Health-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Manchester. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m. with Reverend Tony D. Ede officiating. Burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery, Manchester at a later date. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Manchester is in charge of arrangements.
David was born on April 11, 1952, in Sandwich, Illinois, the son of Elmore and Kathryn (Sowder) Bailey. David married Mary Pratt and their daughter Tina was born to this union, the couple later divorced. He worked various jobs throughout his life. David enjoyed watching wrestling, football, Duck Dynasty and working outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandson. David will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
David is survived by his daughter, Tina (Darwin) Long of Masonville, Iowa, and grandson, Bane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmore and Kathryn Bailey; sister, Shirley; and his brothers, Raymond, Allen, and Eddie.
